Sujata is a Level 2 Immigration and Asylum accredited supervisor and senior caseworker with over 30 years of experience in immigration law. She has vast experience of asylum and immigration casework starting from initial applications to appeals before the First and Upper Tribunals and Court of Appeal. She is particularly experienced in asylum and human rights claims, unaccompanied minor asylum claims and trafficking matters.
Sujata has previously worked for Haringey CAB and Refugee Migrant Justice as an immigrations caseworker focused mainly on asylum claims and immigration applications for example, marriage applications and entry clearance applications and related appeal work. Immigration work include applications for indefinite leave to remain, limited leave to remain, family reunion, domestic violence and EEA related matters.
Sujata also has experience of representing clients in the Detention Fast Track (DFT) as well as coordinating and providing advice in the various detention surgeries. She was involved in DFT litigation including getting clients out of fast track process and stopping removal direction, as well as grant of asylum at pre-decision stage.
